It’s such a nightmare. I can’t begin to imagine what Eastern Europeans have experienced in the not so distant past, and for many in the present. But I do understand that giving in to Russia is not an option.

I completely agree. I also suspect that the people calling for Ukraine to surrender land are in many case Russian assets, like Orban, and that such suggestions are really a sign that the war is going poorly for Russia, so they try to influence with their propaganda in countries that support Ukraine.

Yes, but also just ignorant people blinded by their privilege

Oh definitely get those in my country. Mere minor perceived inconveniences are enough for some to argue against helping Ukraine. Again I wonder how many of those are sincere and how many of them are just troll/bot arguments to try to lessen support. Always seem to be the same people that comment within 10 mins of a twitter post being made about Ukraine by my country's news orgs.

100% agree. Russia must 100% lose this time, including Crimea. That is the only possible path to peace.

I totally got it. As soon as a friend said to me, on Day 1, that "Ukrainians just want to be left the hell alone", I got it. I didn't understand everything back then that I do now. I knew none of the history between the two countries (or very little of it), or about russia's interactions with just about everyone else. But at least I knew that russia had to leave Ukraine alone, and I soon understood that these narratives of peace are lies. I find it wonderful that Ukraine was really the driving force behind the attainment of freedom for so many when it voted to be independent of the USSR, and it's a tragedy that it didn't take more countries out with it, and that it is still fighting for its freedom. I pray daily that we will see all the peoples held in captivity by russia today, free in our lifetime.

I hope to see justice and peace to be restored, and to see Ukraine entering a new chapter in its history - finally free from Russian oppression and aggression. There is so much fight and work ahead, but I hope that no matter how distracted and tired the world becomes, more people will understand that the only way out is through, and not through the appeasement of Russia.

I agree, and it feels good to see others’ agreement in these comments. I wish more Americans understood, agreed, and cared.
