Your grief is closer because your husband's family is from Ukraine. I have a few friends from their, and my Paternal Grandmother came from the border region near there in Galicia. I feel sorrow for those suffering in Syria, for those in Gaza. But my heart and mind are given to Ukraine. Not as your heart and mind are. We can pray and hope and share the news. We know how things will turn out of the fascists/Republicans win here, so we fight that struggle too. You have come close but you have never lost hope. Keep doing what you do Darya. Thank you for being a voice in the wilderness. Like Saint John the Baptist.

Your grief is valid Darya. Grief is love as you said. It is empathy for humanity. I grieve for you and all of Ukraine, and the world. It's ok to be sad. Please take care of yourself.

Grief is, indeed, love. Another excellent poem. Very well said. We do need to give grief space in our lives. If we didn't love, we wouldn't grieve.
