Dearest Darya, very beautiful poem, thank you. Darya, taking a break is not compromising on your values or extinguishing the light. This is a long and hard fight and we must preserve our strength when we can. If you need rest, rest. If you need a break, take that break. You will still be in this world, and know better than so many how things are. But first and foremost, take good care of yourself. Only in this way can we be the real guarantors of the values we stand for. I send you lots of hugs, but please, take some time for yourself whenever you need it. Maybe short breaks or a day away from (social) media every now and then may help. Or walks in the sun. Self care in these circumstances is as important as is the care for others. And while you rest, we will be here. We're not going anywhere. After all, Ukraine, and Belarus, are in our hearts. 🫂

Thank you Darya for your true poem. Feel the same about the history that's on repeat every day. I was born i Poland, but live in Stockholm. Work as a teacher - so we have children from Ukraine - that starts to speak Swedish, they are so sweet and their parents so thankful ! My relatives fought in the 2WW and then tried to cope with the communism. My grandmother was forced to labour in a camp in Germany as young girl...

I try to take breaks from it all but its not easy. Sometimes a true poem like yours can be the best break from it all, to the sound of the birds that welcomes Spring!

Thank you for your kind words, Claudia, and for sharing your family story! My both Belarusian and Ukrainian families found refuge and a new home in Poland during the last years. My youngest sister learned Polish very quickly. Kids are incredibly resilient ❤️‍🩹

In Spain we're with you 💗 Many people celebrate every time a russian objective falls and you achieve a victory. Try to rest and get away from it all somehow, even if it's just for a while. Rest is also a form of resilience! Remember, a weary warrior is a dead warrior. Rest to fight another day. A big hug! 💙💛🫂

Thanks for sharing your feelings as eloquently as ever. I just had the privilege of interviewing Yevhen Tuzov (https://annabowles.substack.com/p/remember-mariupol) and he's still boiling over with energy and determination. One of my friends from Mariupol commented that it inspired and reenergised him.

Ah, Darya. The last few weeks have been very tough, have felt so dark. I hear you. I've mostly had my head down with work, and was then unwell the last few days. But I've been aware of events, and have focused on fundraising for the frontline units and volunteers I support. That has helped me to have some hope, because several fundraisers have closed.

We have to keep focused on doing good. Well. I have to. If I don't, then I'll definitely succumb to the darkness. And I can't do that.

Your poem reminded me of the recent lunar eclipse and the vernal equinox. Literally darkness and shadows but also a little more light each day now. So sorry that you have been feeling sick and tired but glad that you are also seeing and hearing nature.

Beautiful poem.

That must be what people in Ukraine are feeling right now.

They won't give up before they see the light.

Weary is the word I use right now. But I'm not giving up, on either fight I'm in. It's too important.

Psa 27:13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Psa 27:14 Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord .

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Darya, this is the only way I know. The only way to true peace.

As a Southerner who loves America, it is devastating for me to see so many of those around me so trusting of Trump and ignorant of history and international events, that they blindly accept everything he and Musk as and do as good.

We have lost our bearings as a people, while at the same time the Russian disinformation has so infiltrated and subjugation the Right as well as Left, that they can effectively wield their "scissors strategy" and cut out any true resistance from either side.

It literally makes me sick.

Until I put my focus back on God, and know He will bring final judgment in the end.

I speak up on behalf of Ukraine, but seem to be increasingly regarded as eccentric or unhinged because of it.

God bless you, and God bless Ukraine. And I pray God had mercy on America, and gives us true godly leaders with godly wisdom, who couldn't dare trust or countenance Russia/China.
